Studies in finance and accounting led to a stint in the banking industry at the corporate level, providing solid grounding on the inner workings of major financial institutions, as well as experience in commercial real estate.
A yearning to travel and for greater personal interaction pushed me on to a sales career path spanning 20 years and counting. As a major supplier of clothing trim throughout the 1990’s to some of this country’s top fashion labels, such as Polo/Ralph Lauren, Carole Little, Dana Buchman, Karen Kane and Richard Tyler to name but a few, I had the opportunity to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, and interact with a wide range of people and personalities. Working with world-famous fashion designers on a regular basis is beyond anything I could put to words. It did teach some great lessons.
Such broad interactions with people from all over the world, not to mention aggressive East Coasters, prepared me well when I became a Realtor in 2004. Before then, though, attaining an appraiser’s license in 2003 provided me a solid foundation to understanding property valuation, greatly benefiting my clients, both buyers and sellers, during the escrow process.
