Summer Concerts At The Beach

Nothing feels quite as much like summer as enjoying live music in an outdoor setting. But you don’t have to venture to the Hollywood Bowl to have a great experience.  Here are the recently released full schedules for outdoor concerts throughout the summer in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo and The Point.  Concerts in Hermosa Beach begin in August, with bands yet to be announced.

Manhattan Beach Concerts in the Park

Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department kicks off its annual Concerts in the Park July 2 with a Salute to the Troops Picnic and Concert. The concerts are free and take place every Sunday during the summer at Polliwog Park from 5 to 7 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. All performances are open seating and free to the public. There are no dogs, barbecues or wheeled vehicles allowed. Pop-up tents and umbrellas must be removed before the concert starts.

Aug. 27 – Lynette Skynyrd (Lynard Skynyrd tribute)

Sept. 3 – Colour My World (Chicago tribute)

Redondo Beach Concerts on the Pier series

The Redondo Beach Concerts on the Pier series takes place every Thursday and Saturday evening beginning Saturday July 1, and ending Aug. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. Presented by the Redondo Pier Association, the concerts take place at the Octagon where the pier meets the International Boardwalk (below Kincaid’s). Bring a beach chair or blanket. All pier events are weather permitting.

El Segundo Summer Concerts in the Park

The Summer Concerts in the Park in El Segundo runs on selected Sundays in July and August at the Library Park on Main Street. The free event features local food truck vendors. No glass containers or pets are allowed.

Summer Music Series at The Point

The Summer Music Series at The Point, located at the corner of Rosecrans Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard in El Segundo, opens Wednesday, July 5. The series runs through August 30 every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

July 5 – Cougrzz Rock (1970 and 80s)

July 12 – Barrie Minniefield Trio (oldies)

July 19 – Wave Riders (beach music)

July 26 – Guitar Romantica Duo (Latin)

Aug. 2 – J.R. Lewis Trio ( pop/dance)
